HOK embraced the natural light utilizing windowed-walls and dynamic spaces for the Thompson Street Capital Partners offices in Clayton, Missouri.
Thompson Street Capital Partners wanted its new workplace to showcase the private equity firm’s commitment to investing in its people and business partners. Located on the penthouse floor of an office tower, the space brings hospitality to the forefront with a design that lends itself to both work and client engagement.Floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning views onto St. Louis throughout this bespoke workspace. Guests enter through a lobby adorned in bone white leather and cerused oak millwork. Flanked on either side of the lobby are a richly appointed reception lounge and coffee bar that serve as the heart of the office and a hub for people to collaborate, socialize and network.Custom furniture and artwork showcase Thompson Street’s culture and brand. A marble concierge desk at reception reveals a subtle etching of the company logo. An engraved wood wall displays a map of Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood, where the company was formed. Artwork created by the client hangs throughout the office in gallery-like fashion.Different space types support Thompson Street’s commitment to new and traditional approaches to work. Open and closed collaboration spaces and huddle rooms foster collective problem solving. A library and private offices provide space for heads-down work. Perimeter offices feature interior glass walls that allow daylight to pass into the rest of the building while supporting acoustical privacy and an approachable culture.Integrated technology adds to the clean, sophisticated look. Conference rooms and other spaces are outfitted with videoconferencing systems, back-painted glass markerboards, smart lighting and motorized window treatments.
